Newly Added Sainik Schools under AISSEE 2026

NTA has expanded the list of participating institutions by adding the following three schools for the 2026 session:

These schools have been incorporated into the official list of approved Sainik Schools mentioned in the AISSEE 2026 information bulletin.

Expansion of Sainik School Network

Earlier this year, in June 2025, the Ministry of Defence approved 86 new Sainik Schools as part of its initiative to establish 100 such schools across India. This expansion aims to strengthen military education and leadership training at the school level. The move is part of a larger effort to increase access to high-quality education rooted in discipline, physical fitness, and national service, which are central to the Sainik School ethos.

Admission Routes for New Sainik Schools

Admissions to the newly added Sainik Schools (NSS) will be conducted through two categories:

• Category A (40% Route): Seats will be filled based on the All India Merit List of AISSEE 2026.
• Category B (60% Route): Reserved for students already studying in approved New Sainik Schools, based on a school-wise merit list.
