 AIBE 20 Exam 2025: Checklist, Guidelines, Reporting Time & Bare Acts

The All India Bar Examination (AIBE) 20 2025 will be held on November 16, 2025, across multiple centres in India. It is a crucial step for law graduates seeking the Certificate of Practice from the Bar Council of India (BCI). Candidates must follow strict guidelines on the exam day regarding documentation, dress code, stationery, and permitted bare acts to ensure a smooth experience.

AIBE 20 Exam Guidelines

  • Carry a printed admit card and a valid government-issued photo ID (Aadhaar, Voter ID, Passport, Driving License). Entry will be denied without these.
  • Arrive at least one hour early to complete verification, frisking, and seating.
  • Follow invigilator instructions; do not communicate or leave the hall without submitting the answer sheet.
  • Electronic devices (mobiles, smart watches), bags, notes, or calculators are strictly prohibited.
  • Use blue or black ballpoint pens only; carry spares.
  • Wear simple, comfortable clothes and avoid accessories that trigger security checks.

 

AIBE 20 Exam 2025 Do’s & Don’ts

Do’s:

  • Carry at least two copies of the admit card.
  • Bring permitted bare acts without annotations.
  • Arrive 60 minutes early and follow all instructions calmly.
  • Carry spare pens and necessary stationery.

Don’ts:

  • Do not carry mobile phones, calculators, or other electronics.
  • Do not bring books, guides, or annotated bare acts.
  • Do not leave the exam hall before submission unless instructed.
  • Avoid any misconduct or unfair practices.

 

Bare Acts Allowed

The BCI allows candidates to bring bare acts without commentary. Only clean copies with tabs or highlights are permitted. Writing or annotating inside bare acts is prohibited. Common bare acts include:

  • Constitution of India
  • Indian Penal Code (IPC)
  • Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC)
  • Civil Procedure Code (CPC)
  • Evidence Act
  • Advocates Act

 

Reporting Time and PwD/Scribe Guidelines

  • Check the reporting time on the admit card and arrive at least one hour early. Gates may close before the start time.
  • PwD candidates with over 50% disability are eligible for extra time (20 minutes per hour).
  • Candidates needing a scribe can bring their own, who must be verified and meet BCI rules.
  • Carry all PwD/PH certificates for verification.
