The AAT is conducted for admission to BArch programmes after the JEE Advanced exam, and dates related to registration, examination and result have been formally announced alongside the JEE Advanced 2026 calendar.

Who Is Eligible for AAT 2026?

Only candidates who have qualified the JEE Advanced 2026 exam scheduled for 17 May 2026 are eligible to register for AAT 2026 and appear in the Architecture Aptitude Test. The AAT score does not have a separate ranking system; qualifying it is essential for admission to the BArch programmes through JoSAA counselling after JEE Advanced.

How to Register for AAT 2026?

Candidates intending to appear in the AAT 2026 exam should follow these steps once the registration window opens:

  1. Visit the official JEE Advanced portal jeeadv.ac.in when AAT registration goes live.

  2. Find the link for AAT 2026 registration in the notifications or important dates section.

  3. Log in using valid JEE Advanced 2026 credentials (application number and DOB).

  4. Complete the AAT registration form and submit within the 1–2 June 2026 window.

  5. Download the confirmation/receipt for future reference.

The registration process is mandatory and strictly time-bound; late entries are not accepted.

What to Expect in AAT 2026?

The Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) assesses a candidate’s freehand drawing, geometrical drawing, three-dimensional perception, imagination and aesthetic sensitivity skills critical for architectural education. The test is usually conducted in offline (pen-and-paper) mode on the scheduled date, and results are released within a few days after the exam. Successful candidates in AAT 2026 are considered for BArch admissions at designated IITs through the JoSAA counselling process, which follows after the declaration of JEE Advanced results and subsequent AAT outcome.
